Angry Ham’s/Octane/Angry Ham’s

September 30th, 2011

(I know it’s not the best but it’s the only pic I have to represent this place)
I haven’t watched the whole video but apparently Angry Ham’s was a guinea pig for the show “Bar Rescue” which woudl exlpain why I saw the name change from Angry Han’s to Octane and I guess they decided to go back to Angry Ham’s after the show was done.

Watch the episode here:

  1. I don’t know why they changed the name back to angry hams. Seems so foolish to me.

  2. The Chicken Bone, name changed to The Bone per the show, was also featured on Bar Rescue a few weeks ago and that owner has also decided to back off from the suggestions/name change.

  3. I watched the Chicken Bone episode and while I think the “host” is a d*ck, I also realize that he probably overemphasises that part of his persona to sell the show. With that said, I agreed with most of the changes they made EXCEPT for the name. Yes, I’ve always referred to it as “the Bone” from back in my college days (mid 90′s) but making that the name was not needed… The Chicken Bone has a history and I’m happy that the name reverted to the original.

In the case of Angry Ham’s/Octane I have no real feeling – haven’t even been in the place yet, though I hope to try it soon.

  4. Very interesting, I was wondering about the name change over the summer, and then the name change back. I live down the street, have still not been to try it, but noticed the new sign and thought it was kind of hard to read, I originally thought it said Octave.

Anyway, I watched the episode online yesterday, and today it is no longer available.

  5. The name “Octane” implies just another yuppie spot gone main stream. Glad to see the original name back on the place!

  6. They pulled the episode of this and the chicken bone from the site. I wonder if it is because both of the restaraunts changed their names back once the cameras were off.

  7. Looks like the episode is airing again today on Spike, and “the bone” is next week …

  9. Seems like a slap in the face to the to town after they went downtown and made amends on the tv show and agreed to change the name.

  10. What a foolish move by Tm at Octane to change that name back to the awful Angry Hams. Doesn’t Tim realize that with the right moves he could franchise or expand with a name like Octane and this place could bring him into a whole new level of wealth and security for him and his employees. But small thinking and small town dollars is what is going to result from the backwards thinking that drove the business into the red in the first place. What a shame. I liked that owner on the show, but I guess it is not meant to be. Enjoy Framingham boozehounds forever. Did I miss something? Did LB look like he was wasted? Also a shame.

  12. I heard the reason they had to change the name back was they didn’t have the property permitting by the sign police in Framingham to change it. I went there a few weeks ago for the second time, it looked so much better inside & they had a great band. I hope this place succeeds we could use another place to go see live music in Framingham.

  13. Ate there recently had the fried fish, good sized portion but they use the puffy Van de Kamps style batter, ditto on the onion rings that reeked of beer to the point they were uneatable.

  14. I think that John helped too much the owners of Chicken Bone and Angry Ham’s. They took advantage of everything they could get for free and disrespect and were rude both. Then they were dishonest and changed the name back. But they kept everything else.
