I used to love this place when it was Wasabi, it had a sort of grimy charm and the food was always wonderful. I have noticed that since it switched names and decor the quality of the sushi has never been quite as good. When they first re-opened as Aoi, the original owner/chef (from Wasabi) told me that he took on another partner to help fund the renovations, or something of that sort. It seems that the money man may be putting some pressure on to cut corners with the quality of fish. Such a shame, Wasabi was really a hidden gem.
