Well, if we must have chains on Route 9, let it be a local one as good as BBC. As another beer snob, and former homebrewer, beer judge, and beer journalist, I'm looking forward to the BBC's beer list.

I went to their Plymouth location once about 12 years ago after taking my daughter to the children's museum across the street (she was about 4 years old). We sat at the bar and the bartender served her a pint glass of milk while Dad had a malt beverage. Hadn't seen such a family friendly pub since I was in London; hope they haven't gone too corporate!

We went a couple of weeks ago and it was definitely good enough to try again. The appetizer menu is huge, so it was hard to decide what to get. We went with the nachos which were very good. They were out of almost half of the beers on tap, which was disappointing. The waitress also spilled a beer on my back because she was rushing around too fast. My husband got the "Bangers and Mash" which was delicious. I got the Chicken and Leek "Pasty," and while it was OK, I wouldn't recommend it. I think service was the weakest point, so I agree about waiting a while for them to work out the kinks before you go.

Went there on Friday night. Having been to the one on the cape, we were pretty sure with what to expect. Even though we got there at 6, it was packed (we figured it would be crowded, but not THAT much). After a half hour wait, they gave us a seat at a table near the bar. It was so loud there that we weren't able to talk without screaming. After pondering a few minutes, we asked if we could have a seat in the dining room instead. After a few more minutes, we did manage to get another table.

Dinner was just fine, though our appetizers came out after the dinner came out. Though they were nice and did take them off the bill. Our Waitress was great, though, and helped make up for it.

It was disappointing, but with the place being new, and we do know that the Cape on is consistently good, we'll come back, but after a few months to let the crowds die down.

The Hobgoblin is great, but the Green King IPA can be taken or left as preferred (too mild). Their prime rib is excellent, much better than any other chain, not quite as good as Ken's though.

Last Saturday noon you can walk right into the bar, though the dining area was filling up fast. Now why can't all Chili's go out of business and be replaced with BBCs?

I've only been to the one in Hyannis on the Cape. They do a really good turkey sandwich that tasted very fresh.

the hubby and i went last weekend - on a sunday night at almost 9pm, we had a 15 minute wait. definitely unusual for a sunday, but clearly people have been waiting for this place.

i had the pot roast w/roasted veggies - yummy! and my hubby had the steak and blue cheese wrap - he was also pleased.

there wasn't a beer menu on the table, but i was under the impression that it was either supposed to live at the table (and someone took it home) or they were supposed to bring it with the menus.

didn't get to hear about desserts, but specifically asked about bread pudding. i was disappointed to hear that they don't have it. :(

i'll definitely go back, hopefully the crowds die down a bit.

We ALSO went yesterday, but right at the 11:30 AM open for lunch. It got busy very quickly. I'm a beer snob, so we'll definitely be back though, and I think the place has completely killed off John Harvard's for us. I also had the Hobgoblin and enjoyed it. As a follow up, I went with the Erdinger which was WAY better than I expected.

We also went last night for a birthday dinner. I agree that the fish was great. The ribs were also melt-off-the-bone. I had the Fuller's Porter to drink which was very nice if you like the darker beers. It was very busy last night, and they were warning some people of an up to an-hour-and-45 wait. I suspect that in a few weeks it will die down and just be one of the many options in the area, but as I like the style of food and drink, may be a regular for me.
