I would actually love to see this re-open as a combination coffee shop / actual train station. I know the MBTA has their "station" down a bit, but it's nothing to brag about. There's no coverage in the rain or cold weather. I also had a run-in with a homeless person as I was getting in the elevator one Saturday. Because I'm legally blind, I use a travel stick. He was sleeping on the floor and wasn't happy when my stick tapped him while I was attempting to enter.

A real train staion with a roof, bathroom facilities and coffee would be a wonderful thing. And I think the week day morning commuters would keep the coffee shop busy.

I agree that is should be a train station again with a few small vendors inside. A parking garage where the old fabric place is would be great too.

I also think a coffee shop, particularly a Starbucks, would do well there due to the train station. I DO think the downtown PARKING situation is going to be a problem for any restaurant that goes in there. I happen to love the Brazilian meats, and I liked the food at Old Station, but I also understand the logistical problems of why restaurants can't seem to make it at that location.

It is a shame to see another vacant storefront in downtown. I think a coffee shop, like Dunkin Donuts could do great there, esp. with all the commuters. There's really limited parking there for a restaurant.

The real problem is was located in downtown Framingham. I remember when the Brazilians started to paint the roof red. Until the town honestly begins to address all the problems within town, there is little hope of success at this location. Makes more sense to turn it back into a train station with an inside DD or Starbucks.

Unfortunately, I think this spot will stay vacant for a while. I loved Ebeneezer's, but downtown traffic has made me avoid that area at all costs. The only solution to the traffic problem is to put the train tracks underground and eliminate the at-grade crossing.

Well, I guess every time it closes we can have hope that the next incarnation will be a good place that lasts a long time!

Why does it seem like restaurants just don't last as long as they used to? Or has it always been like this and we just remember the ones that did last?
