I lived in an apartment in the yellow house that was pictured...it's on Learned Street, and it was my very first apartment when I graduated from Framingham Union Hospital School of Nursing! If that's a fairly recent picture, it hasn't changed a bit! The house was divided into 3 apartments: a 2-story on the left as you're looking at the house, and 2 apartments on the right. I lived upstairs on the right.....I loved that place, and think of it fondly! Thanks so much for the memory!

Thanks Sal,
I miss having fun and updating this blog too. I've been busy and times are tight financially so I don't go out as much (I've got emails asking for restaurant reviews) and I just haven't been motivated but I would like to get back to this so I will try!
Best,
Michelle

I agree with Bunny J but the railroad project will never happen in our lifetime. We still need to make downtown a pleasant place with abundant parking and attractive. There are a ton of people that pass through each day and it is a transportation hub of metrowest. Right now its a filthy unattractive area and this should be unacceptable to every resident that pays such a high price to live in Framingham !

The downtown area will never be worth developing until the railroad no longer "derails" car traffic there. With 60 trains a day going through downtown, no one wants to drive through there if they can help it. Look at Wellesley with the bridges that go over the train tracks. Traffic is never disrupted, and they have a vital downtown. No matter what plans this group comes up with, until they prevent the trains from disrupting traffic by sinking the tracks or building bridges over them, nothing will save the downtown area--not wide sidewalks, spruced-up fronts on the buildings, nothing. It might have made a difference years ago, but it's too late now. The horse has left the barn.

Ate there recently had the fried fish, good sized portion but they use the puffy Van de Kamps style batter, ditto on the onion rings that reeked of beer to the point they were uneatable.

Just seeing this now, but I'm sure to find photos. I grew up in Framingham in the 70's to mid-80's, went to many events at Shopper's World, and have a shutterbug for a father. I'll take a look when I'm back there.
