The old sign was in violation of some section of that law and needed to be replaced. Framingham has a very complicated sign by-law and it was only recently that the sunset provision expired (meaning all signs need to be brought into compliance).. It's only a matter of time before all signs in Framingham become quite non-distinct and less pizzazz-y (if that is a word). It was a lot of fun. But the new sign looks like they took the "Fun" out of it. How boring. It definitely needs pizzazz. Even if I didn't know what kind of business "Fun and Games" is, who'd ever think that the Times New Roman font would evoke a feeling of anything fun? That sign really says "Yeah, I guess our stuff is kinda fun. You can come in if you want, or not. Whatever. We don't really care". By the way, there's some work happening at the old head shop on Main St. you blogged about recently. The windows have been replaced and they're doing some work inside, too. But the place I miss even more is Bowlerama! I moved out of that area in 1993 to Seattle, and returned to visit around 2000 and was stunned to see they turned it into something else. It was the place to go on weekends back in the 1970's. Sometimes "modern progress" isn't very kind to us & our memories... - Traci I used to like Fun & Games back in the late 70’s. I have great memories of it from my teens, but every time I've gone in the past ten years the machines eat $1.50 of every $2.00 I put in them. When you try to get your money back their management tells you that they don't own the games and that you have to write to the company that owns the games for a refund. I hate Fun and Games.
