I too have used J.N. Phillips for replacement of a windshield. Though my experiance was not as smooth as the one you describe.

I decided to save myself some time and have J.N. come to my place of work (Autozone on Rt.135 Framingham) I made my appointment and they told me that the tech or "someone" would call me between 9-11 to let me know what time they would be there. At about 11:30 when no one called I got nervous, I called them, apparently they had goofed and booked too many jobs, but they would "sqeeze" me in as a courtesy. Great! I got off of work at 5pm that day and was told between 2-4 a tech would be along to do the job. Well finally at 5:05pm I see the J.N. van pull up, the tech I believe his name was Zark (sp?) siad he had been delayed and although he was sorry he was pretty gruff about it. So instead of me driving away at 5pm with my new windsheild I instead had to wait about 25 minutes for this guy to change my windsheild, I ended up going to Papa Ginos for some pie, and my "simple" windsheild repair had me at work for almost an extra 40 minutes. How perfect.
