Someone was interested in Joan Buckminster Marcy, buried in the cemetary at Framingham. She was my great aunt and a great beauty, if I do say so myself. I inherited her portrait, done in oil. It's beautiful and hangs in my sister's house in Washington State.

She was married to a Spanish diplomat.
She died in Egypt after an ectopic pregnancy; medical technology was not what it is today, obviously. She was still in her twenties when she died.

I never knew her, but I knew my grandmother, her sister, very well indeed.

Feel free to contact me. stancym@bellsouth.net

I believe they were selling these exact decorations before the Lincoln Discount in Pinefield Plaza closed its doors. I loved that place and all of the throwback merchandise.

I caught an episode of "Antiques Roadshow" recently and they were doing a piece on Halloween collectibles, spending some time on Dennison paper decorations. Turns out they're really valuable because they were made to be disposable and there aren't many examples around these days. I have a feeling our crappy "Made in China" paper decorations won't increase in value anytime soon!
