Old Station Steak House(?)
July 29th, 2008
Riding my bike by the (now open) Old Station Steak House, I decided to stop in and asked to look at a menu to see what it was like.
The girl at the host stand said they just have a buffet, no menu, so I asked if I could look and although I’m not an expert in the cuisine, it seemed to be similar to Brazilian buffet items I have seen in the past.
Nothing against Brazilian food, and the girl at the host stand was very nice but I was looking forward to something we don’t already have several of downtown already. I will eventually come here to review but just thought people may want to know before they go down thinking they can order a steak.
Me, I joked about Brazilian food to a certain extent but in all honestly, I know where you’re coming from.
It’s a shame. I love right by the station and it looks like a good building, but we do have tons of Brazilian restaurants all over downtown.
I mean, I can count four off the top of my head that aren’t far from this restaurant.
I thought that they might actually be a kind of upscale steak restaurant, like I might have to at least dress business casual to go in and sit down, which would have been kind of bad, but not really.
And it’s such a good location…..
Oh well. I’ll wait for your review and do not hold back.

The above should read:
“I live right by the station”

It looked like it opened up on Friday night. All the spots in the little lot were full. I did see a banner advertising the buffet (and they had it translated in to Brazilian Portugeuse). I’m disappointed. I guess I’ll have to keep going to Route 9 and the Met in the Mall. A cool after work spot with a steakhouse bar would have been awesome on Friday nights.

Dissapointed myself — I assumed it would be a sit down, independent steak house a la Ken’s… I like Brazilian food but we didn’t need another option — give me a nice porterhouse!!

Oh MAN I am SOOOO disappointed!
I too was looking forward to a real steak house - talk about false advertising.
Do they not have a menu yet because they don’t think they are going to survive there? I give it about 6 months and SEE YA!
Very sad, can’t wait to hear your review so I know whether or not to bother.
