Red Pepper to be Bronzetti’s?

March 2nd, 2010

A source told me that Bronzetti’s pizza planning on moving into the space that Red Pepper is in. The source is usually pretty reliable but I don’t see any permits yet to confirm. I don’t know if the rt. 9 location would stay open as well or if this is even really happening but I think it would be an improvement to what’s there now. I know some people love Red Pepper but we had a pretty bad meal there and I got some take out Hot and Sour soup there that was pretty much flavored with just black pepper (ironically not red). I think this location would be a great location for a pizza hangout and Liam-esque kind of place. We’ll see if this happens.

  1. That would be great. It would be good to see this location put to good use again. Bronzetti’s has been a good local spot and could probably use the improved location.

  2. We’ve been to Red Pepper a few times (3-4) and had very positive experiences there. It’s food is probably on par with Sichuan Gourmet, but more authentic “Sichuan” style. This place very appreciated in the asian community because it doesn’t produce “American style” Chinese food. If you go there, be bold and order something new instead of the typical chicken fingers, spareribs, etc.

  3. that’d be a great location for bronzetti’s. we don’t go to their current place very much b/c of the location on Rt 9. we always do takeout and it’s a hassle to pick up a pizza on the eastbound side and then try to turn around to go westbound and have the pizza still be hot when it arrives.

  4. I was wondering if you happended to see that there is a sign or banner if you will at the old Long’s motors next to wings. It reads Southside Liquors. Do you have any info on that new business? I remember the selectman turned down an applicant to run the very same business a year ago. Mr Sisisky said it was to close to the school St Tarsisous and Keefe and Garbarinio’s and Fram Liquors also objected.

  5. Not to get too off track here, but in response to EK’s post, does the town — especially Downtown — really need a liquor store?
This spot would’ve been great for a modest restaurant of some sort; but now, to me, it’s just another sign of the insidious degradation of that part of town. So much for “restaurant row” as the selectmen were at one time fantasizing about for this stretch of 135.
(If there’s one upside, now when you order wings at Wings Over Framingham, you can pick up a rack of beer next door!)

  6. Im going to continue the off-topic trend, but the now abandoned KFC, on 135 has now been painted on the outside, any news on if something is going in there, OR did they just paint it so now people will forget a KFC once was there???

  8. Matt - I was thinking that the convenience of picking up wings and beer in one stop would be handy, too.

slade germain - i’ve been wondering about that too. i figured the new paint wasn’t just for show, but perhaps it’s just to prevent confusion.

  9. I’ve already asked about KFC and didn’t get an answer… maybe it just makes the building more attractive to prospective buyers?
