I also run on route 135 and it is a disgrace. The railroad yards are overflowing with trash and the sidewalks too !
The town needs to clean it or go after CSX !
Another example how small town government doesnt work in a large "city"

yeah - nice quaint towns with people peeing at the school (it happens every year no matter the number of porta johns on race day)

From the Hopkinton police log

Sunday, March 30, 2008

10:49 am A walk-in reported that while he was playing softball with his daughter at Center School a large group of male runners entered the rear of the school and began urinating on school grounds. Officer David Shane responded and advised that there was a group of male runners behind the school, but did not witness anyone urinating.

Great point. Think about it when I'm donig my marathon training (I grew up in town). The town's efforts to "protect" this stretch of 135 (keep the chains on Route 9) has, in part, led to this mess.

I've routinely made a point to take a quick gander at 135 at about this time of the year, make a mental note of whatever temporary blight might be about (such as the overflowing dumpsters Michelle so nicely highlighted) and encourage the Town to pick up the eyesore.
Maybe someone else could could take a turn nuddging our bureaucrats this year so I don't wear out my welcome (?)
