Oy. We've been living with construction on Water Street for over a year now and I thought that was bad! Unannounced night work with the BEEP BEEP BEEP of backing vehicles, glaring headlights in our bedroom window, the crashing of dumptrucks & boulders & the scraping of metal on rock. And our new baby has learned to sleep through all this at night, and the 2yo naps to this caucophany during the afternoon. I can't imagine many more years of this. It's like living in the Big Dig.
I assumed that's where all of Framingham's public works construction was being concentrated right now.

I moved out of Framingham ten years ago and the bridge was closed for years before I ever moved out of town. So, I'm going to guess that this bridge has been closed nearly 15 years if not more.

I'm pretty sure the bridge has been closed the entire 7 years I have lived in Framingham. If no one else uses it, it will make a great short cut for me : )

It took ten years to rebuild the bridge in Concord on 117. Just saying.

I also think this bridge has been out for way too long! I will be glad when the project is done. The original center ("centre") of Framingham was in the area near the present State College and the present neighborhood of Framingham Centre. I guess it was called "Main Street" because in the 1700s and early 1800s it really WAS a "Main St". Interestingly enough, Quincy, MA also has a Main St. which is NOT a main street!

i've always found it rather ironic that the bridge on the so-called "Main St" has been out of comission for so long. I mean.... how Main a street can it be if it's functioned without a bridge for all this time.
