We've been living with construction on Water Street for over a year now and I thought that was bad! Unannounced night work with the BEEP BEEP BEEP of backing vehicles, glaring headlights in our bedroom window, the crashing of dumptrucks & boulders & the scraping of metal on rock. And our new baby has learned to sleep through all this at night, and the 2yo naps to this caucophany during the afternoon. I can't imagine many more years of this. It's like living in the Big Dig. I assumed that's where all of Framingham's public works construction was being concentrated right now. Oy. I guess it was called "Main Street" because in the 1700s and early 1800s it really WAS a "Main St". Interestingly enough, Quincy, MA also has a Main St. which is NOT a main street!
