The new owner is doing great things with that bar. He's done a great job keeping the riff raff out and making the place feel like a nice safe neighborhood bar. There is also all sorts of entertainment including live music, pool and dart leagues, and a free Texas Hold'em poker league. They have a very nice menu with some really unique and tasty stuff including their signature "Tavern" burger. The crowd there is an ecclectic mix of people from young to old and nobody ever feels out of place in there. It's a great bar with a great vibe and a great new owner. Definitely check it out. I ask: Who frequents this joint? Is it safe, sleazy, down home, young crowd, old crowd, down and out, biker bar, eclectic? Obviously the place can survive in that location, but let's face it: not the nicest slice of downtown.
