It was Crown Chevrolet when I left Framingham in '79. Before that it was a First National Supermarket. If you drive down Union Avenue and look up Wood Terrace, you'll see a gray frame house next to the parking lot. That's the one I grew up in. The freight door was right next to our yard, and deliveries were noisy at 2 in the morning. The First National came in about 1957 or '58. Before that, there was an old farmhouse with an apple orchard and a grape arbor behind it--much prettier and quieter. Hard to believe that building is over 50 years old. But then, I find it hard to believe that I'm over 50 years old!

I agree with the student parking lot current usage.

It probably had other iterations over the years, (I believe it started off as a supermarket) but it used to be Crown Chevrolet/Oldsmobile which quickly changed its identity to part of Jim Carney's Automall. The mid eighties/nineties saw that particular building housing Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, and some of the parts/service for Hyundai car lines. The Hyundai franchise later moved completely to the newer building across River St. and in the nineties was sold to Herb Connolly Buick on Rte. 9. Jim Carney then moved Bernardi Mitsubishi into the smaller building. The Toyota franchise was always on the other side of Union Ave. separated from Bowditch field by the Sudbury river.

FSC keeps all their landscaping tools/tractors and trucks inside there now along with a bunch of other junk.

when you wait 25 minutes for the shuttle to come bring you back to the campus, you tend to start looking around. :)

as bad as it looks FSC
when they leased it
did landscape the perimeter
and turn off (or remove?)
the tall lights at night so the
neighborhood would not be
impacted so much...

Now this is really making me feel old because I absolutely remember it as Crown Chevrolet/Olds which was very much alive when I moved to Framingham in 1987. In fact, earlier in the 1980s when we lived in Walpole, my wife was a Tupperware manager through "Patriot Party Sales" which was in downtown Framingham (building has been torn down). "Patriot" got all the Tupperware manager cars (Olds sta. wgns.) through Crown Chevrolet/Olds. I once went in there looking at cars and asking questions. A salesman was SO pushy and rude that I walked off the property and never went back! And in answer to Michael, Bernardi Toyota was across the street until around 10-12 years ago when they moved to a new showroom on Route 9.

It absolutely 100% was a Chevy dealership when I lived in Framingham. There also used to be a Toyota dealership across the street. I'm not sure if that's still there.

That's exactly what is was, I remember taking a test drive there back in 88/89 or so. Might have been a Chevrolet dealership but I'm not sure.
