there is a "contemporary furniture "store on route 9. my boyfriend and i are from new york and doing some shopping, so since i love contemporary furniture, we pulled over and went in. First of all, he followed us around as we began to look and says to us, "This is a small showroom, so there is really nothing to look around at..." and i said, "Fine! then we'll go". what the hell was that about. how come we couldn't look around? it was a decent sized showroom and i may have wanted to purchase a lamp, but he lost our business cause he was so rude. they had plenty of pieces in there to look at and try out. i was PISSSSSED!

I remember Fun and Games when it was one of many dozens of booths in this 'World bazaar' kind of establishment; it was almost like a flea market. My parents used to frequent the little book booth where you could get paperbacks with their covers missing for a dime or quarter. My mother thinks in retrospect that it (the book shop) was probably not a legal operation. Anyhow, during its infancy in the 'bazaar' there couldn't have been much more than half a dozen machines, none of which I think were video based. There were these mechanical things, a couple pinballs, a knock-down target kind of baseball rig, and I think something like a pachinko machine.

Over the years the amount of space that Fun and Games occupied ripped and ebbed like the tides.

I remember it being colossal in the late 70s/early 80s before Houlihan's had the front corner and Duca's opened. There were no 'kiddie' games back then; no skeeball, no ticket spewing money-eaters. It was lit solely by the glow of hundreds of pinball and video machines plus it's neon-ish decorative lighting. There was a sizeable pool hall there for many years, which also shrank, grew, or relocated according to demand or design changes.

I wasted so much time and money in that place growing up, but I loved it. It's probably what got me into the I.T. field and I guess that means that it wasn't a total waste.

I've lived out of state since 1995. I've walked in Fun and Games a couple times for nostalgia's sake since then and have walked right out again disappointed with what it has become. For that matter, I can't stand what has become of my beloved Natick Mall, Shoppers' World, Lechmere (Framingham?) Mall, Sherwood Plaza, and Rte 30 Mall (loved Computer City) either. Natick Mall and Shoppers' World are what really hurt though.

Comapred to Lazer Zone in Marlboro, I would rather frequent this place. LZ has only ticket dispensing machines for their selection which is basically slot machines for kids.

Good Times can't get here fast enough.

Wow, this is so sad to read! I loved this place, and used to go all the time. The last time I went, I was disappointed as it was all empty space and little to play. What was available to play was mostly ticket-giving games. But, at least the space entrance was still there...
