Another tax exempt property?

June 29th, 2006

new mosque

I was just reading this article in the MWDN about how the old Friendly’s on Union Ave was bought by the Islamic Society of Framingham and will become a Mosque.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not anti-Muslim but  pro-business (even more so if it serves ice cream).
The article states that the planning board will have to approve a change-of-use permit.  How does that work?  If it’s already purchased, can the town deny a non-business purpose for a property in a business zone? ????? ????  Or is it just to make it official it’s a tax exempt property now and the mosque doesn’t really need approval. From the article: “If the change is approved, the move would mean another hit to the town’s tax rolls. ???? ?????? Friendly’s, which closed early this year, paid ,749 in property taxes for fiscal 2006. ???? 1xbet

A whole lot of nothin’ going on

June 28th, 2006

hello?

The majority of this plaza on Franklin St. is vacant. It’s such a shame because it is yet another area that I can walk to from my house but, there’s not much of a reason to. ???? ?????? ??????? ????????? ???? 2022   I would have thought at least a grocery store could stay in business there, but no such luck. spin palace
They must be pretty confident nothing will move into the old Big D for a while since the thrift store, that isn’t in the space of the old grocery store, got top billing on the plaza sign.  I wonder if this will all just eventually get bulldozed over.  I can’t even think of what I’d want to be in there but I guess its ok for now since I like Dunkin Donuts, bought something from the thrift store and once in a while need to get a bottle of wine or something from the liquor store.
Who knows, maybe whatever the 400 Club becomes will attract something else.  Maybe someone will even occupy the old fotomat hut!
Also, I’d like to give a shout out to the two businesses in what I call “survivor’s corner“.  They must have some loyal patrons because I thought there was nothing still alive in that section.  Good for them!  If anyone needs a haircut or a laundromat please go there. ?????? ????????

Night on the town

June 28th, 2006

Last night we went out for a little Chinese food at Imperial China and ice cream at Gerard Farms.

Although we didn’t order it last night, pupu
Imperial China has great chicken with eggplant and they’re the only place I know that will make fried rice with brown rice.  We just got some cocktails and a pupu platter – oh and some vegetables to make it a “healthy” meal. is ivermectin tablets safe for humans

After that we went to Gerard Farms, which I’ve never been to before.  My friend, who likes their chicken pot pies brought it to my attention. how far apart canninguve double strongid and ivermectin   I know, I’m out of the loop.  I tried the kahlua brownie and Ethan got cookies and cream. comprimido para escabiose
I didn’t try his, but the kahlua brownie was really, really good.

These images were stuck in my mind when I decided to drag myself out of bed and go to the gym this morning.

The new half-yellow store!

June 27th, 2006

woolworth's
Finally the “for lease” signs in the windows of the old Woolworth have gone and paper is up in the windows to hide whatever exciting construction is going on in there.
I noticed that half of the old sign has tuned yellow.  I’m not really sure why.  Is the new owner making it yellow and ran out of paint, on a perfect line down the middle?  Will everything in the store be half yellow and half white?  Who knows!
Whatever it’s going to be, it needs R&R panel with sheet rock.  So basically, it could be anything- but, it’s going to be something! So I’ll look forward to that and hope it’s something I want to go to.

Keep on truckin’

 convoy!

I went down to check out the celebration and see if it was as out of control as some have reported. It was very festive and loud with all the horns blaring, but thanks to the Framingham PD, well controlled.
I was really impressed with the very organized efforts to control the crowd and traffic.
As you can see there was some heavy traffic and I felt bad for anyone trying to get through and hadn’t paid attention to the world cup schedule and score but it would’ve been pretty wild if the police hadn’t managed traffic and people like they did.

Health Clinic?

June 22nd, 2006

health clinic

I originally took this picture to post about fond memories of learning to drive at A&A auto school.  Getting the hands on experience of driving with the instructor who looked like he or she wanted to be anywhere but in the car with me and my classmates.  I remember I used to think it was cool that the instructors would smoke in the car.
I was noticing that in the picture next door the old army recruiting office is under construction.  I looked up on the town permit page to see if I could find out anything and I saw this.
Is this THE health clinic that has been talked about so much?  I didn’t know it was approved and I thought it was going down by the dentist office on
Waverly street but maybe I’m wrong on both counts.

The stop sign at Rt. 9 and Rt. 30

June 22nd, 2006

dumb stop

The only accident I’ve even been in was at this stop sign a few years ago.  It was my fault. The person in front of me started to go and then I looked back at route 9 to make sure it was clear, and it was, so as I turned forward I started to step on the gas only to find the Durango in front of me stopped after initially moving and I rear-ended it at a whopping 1 mile an hour. ivermectin tablets chew or swallow
I was more than apologetic but this lady was mean and dramatic acting like I came wailing into her at 80mph while drunk, on a cell phone and eating a bag of chips. can you use both premethrin cream and ivermectin on humans
When the police officer got there and was telling her I gave him my insurance info, she looked at me and then at him, put her hand on her hip and said “Oh, you mean she HAS insurance?” I’m not really sure what that was supposed to mean, isn’t it the law to have insurance for MA plate car?  Did I look like some scrub that was trying to drive with an uninsured, MA plate car?
The officer, who was really nice, told me that stop sign is the one of the top places (if not the top) in Framingham for accidents.
This lady got $20,000 for her sore neck (mind you, I was in my little econo car and bumped her towering Dodge Durango) but then tried to get MORE money from my insurance company and that’s when it become known that she was in an identical accident at the SAME exact stop sign a week earlier and got money from that person’s insurance too.
Hmm…stopping short to get $20,000 is a pretty good plan if you are a total sleazebag.
The insurance companies conducted a stakeout on her and watched her to see if she was really acting like her neck had this much damage or whatever she was claiming.  I’m guessing she was caught because she retracted her demand for more money and went back to the bridge she lives under.
Anyway, that’s why it’s on my $#@% list. (even though I know it was my fault)
