Gangs in MetroWest Event

September 29th, 2008

The Framingham League of Women Voters are sponsoring an event to discuss and learn about gangs in the MetroWest area, of course no better place to have this event than downtown Framingham.   This is my hood so I’ll be very interested to hear what the Framingham Police will be presenting and if anyone else is interested, here is the flyer:

Coming soon…Bollywood Grill

September 23rd, 2008

I never did get to the Rat Pack Cafe before it closed and was wondering if anything was going on with the space.  I saw in the work permits that Bollywood Grill is moving in. cost ivermectin heartworm   I wish I liked Indian food, I’ve tried it a few times but I’m just not into it but I know this cuisine has a lot of hard core fans so I’m sure it will do well. using ivermectin on chickens for scaley leg mites

BJ’s

September 18th, 2008

We got a card in the mail for a free trial of BJ’s Wholesale Club and tonight decided to go see what bounty awaited us in giant isles of food and household goods.
It was nice and quiet tonight, I think the last time I was at a BJ’s with my mom it was pretty crazy, but I guess all stores are on the weekend.
I don’t know why, but I kind of like the warehouse feel.  Maybe because it’s so big and spacious and you can see so many products at the same time (even if you can’t reach them).

We walked up and down the isles looking around and I have to say that it is pretty temping to just get a giant box of Cheez-its or a variety pack of Good Humor ice cream novelties.  They do have some produce too which we got a big bag of  mixed salad but othe than that I didn’t feel anything was that great of a savings.

Things were decently priced but not really worth it unless you really did want a 5lb bag of baby carrots.  We got some laundry soap, chicken, the salad, and went all out and got a Chef Boyardee single serve variety pack (I know the Beefaroni will be the first to go).  Nothing we couldn’t get as a regular grocery store but like I said, it’s just nice to walk around and see what they have and since we have a trial membership we’ll probably go here once again before it expires.

Just to clarify…

I thought this sign on Winter St. was kind of funny because it looks like the “way” in “driveway” was added after the sign was put up.  I wonder why.  Maybe some people didn’t know what else “Blind Drive” meant and would blindfold themselves when they passed this sign.

Election over

September 17th, 2008

I’m so sad Chris Walsh didn’t win the State Rep election, all I could muster up was this clip art image.
But I would like to congratulate Pam Richardson and hope she really works hard to make Framingham live up to it’s potential, especially in downtown.  I’m looking forward to seeing how Pam will make this happen.

State Rep election coming up

September 13th, 2008

On Tuesday, September 16th, elections for State Representative will be held.  For what it’s worth, I’m voting for Chris Walsh.  I put a lot of thought into this, I have friends who are voting for other people and enjoyed learning about all of the candidates and while all three have good qualities, I ended up deciding on Chris because of his spoken interest in making downtown a better place which, as many readers know, I live downtown and that’s really important to me.
You can check out his website to learn more about him: http://www.electchriswalsh.com/

23 Beech St.

September 7th, 2008

I guess it’s been weeks now since I took this picture but Ethan and I have walked by here a few times and noticed this residential building being constructed, and now finished, downtown on Beech St.
I was curious enough to go on the website posted on the sign out front and I was impressed.  It looks like a nice set up.
I wish them luck, especially in this market selling the units here but I just thought I’d share this since it’s kind of easy to miss unless you’re going down that street.  I hope if these sell, more developers will build nice residences in the area that are multi-family but not cramming as many units as they can into the building.
