Stop the insanity!

November 9th, 2010

As I’ve posted before, traffic caused by construction in town has been kind of like a canvas to showcase the darker side of people driving styles.  They block intersections, cut people off, run red lights etc…

This morning while I was inching down Union Ave and came to a standstill, some guy behind me started beeping and then yelling.  Apparently he wanted me to touch the car’s bumper in front of me so he could eek by (and actually thought he’d scrape my car if he did) and take a right. ?????? ??? ??? ?????   I didn’t feel comfortable getting that close to the car in front of me, I don’t know if they have  standard and might roll back a little before they go or what and I have a little rule where I don’t do something I’m not comfortable with just because someone is laying on their horn.  Like when people try to get me to go faster than the speed limit  on a road but yet I’d be the one that gets a speeding ticket.

Anyway, apparently this individual had enough of waiting for traffic to move and got out of his car and started banging on my window and screaming at me- all sorts of nice words and calling me all sorts of nice names.  I quickly locked my door as I saw him stomping over and grabbed my camera (yes, as a blogger I always have my camera in my bag).
Above is the…person who apparently has a lot of issues going on besides dealing with traffic.
When traffic finally started moving I tried to get a shot of his license plate but all I got was this:

The construction in town is just out of control and making an insanely short commute a total nightmare.  People are really turning into animals and I wish they’d switch to just night-time construction. ???? ????????? ??????   I did contact a senior town employee working in the area of planning/construction but they said they don’t do night construction due to residential disruption.
Also, the police probably have bigger fish to fry but I may report this although I really don’t have much information to give them.  So unfortunately people can act like total lunatics and get away with it. ???? ???? 2024
It was just a scary terrible way to start the day and unfortunately the stress of driving in Framingham due to construction  is becoming a way of life because it’s all over town.

Chinese Mirch

November 4th, 2010

Tonight we checked out the new restaurant, Chinese Mirch.  Their slogan is “Chinese food, Indian flavor”.  I’m not a big fan of Indian food because of the spices but I thought this concept sounded interesting.
We started off with some soup. I got Bok Choy which was mild and simple but tasty and Ethan got Manchow which was really spicy and said it was very good.

We got a few dishes that are served family style. First was Gobi Manchurian (cauliflower florets tossed in fresh ginger, garlic, onion seasoning) which was also lightly fried like tempura, really good:

There were so many interesting main dishes to choose from.  Our server helped us choose and made some suggestions.  We ended up deciding on Ginger and Corn fried rice, Chicken Coriander and Sweet and Sour Prawns:

These were all delicious but the shrimp was especially good.  The shrimp was so tender it was effortlessly cut with a fork.
After we wrapped up the leftovers we looked at the dessert menu, and got fried bananas with nutella and a delicious dense chocolate cake served with green tea ice cream.  Both were SO good but too much to finish.

Chinese Mirch is located at 410 Worcester Rd. and you can check out their site for the menu and more information: http://www.chinesemirch.com/ma_framingham.htm

Downtown stuff

October 31st, 2010

Today we walked around downtown and checked out the new fabric store where Fabric Place used to be.
It was nice to see it being occupied and although they don’t use as much space as the old store, there are still plenty of fabrics, notions, books and other sewing supplies.

Their website is up and running if you want check it out. http://framinghamfabric.com
We also saw that the old Fabric Place workshops on Concord St. can humans take horse ivermectin orally (first couple of shops north of the train tracks) are now occupied. durvet ivermectin pour on for cattle 5 mg per dose rate One is a place called Aaron’s, which is an appliance rental type place (picture didn’t come out) and the space next to it is called Partners Balloon Design. ivermectina líquida

I peeked in the window and saw they have a nice space with lots of balloons and party displays

Also we noticed that the Russian store Skaska is now a beer/liquor/convenience store:

We also saw a note on Rent-A-Center’s door:

At first I thought it must be for Halloween but then thought maybe they have that sign up year-round.
Anyway, Happy Halloween!

Cumberland Farms

October 21st, 2010

I’ve actually got a few emails suggesting I check out the new Cumberland Farms on at the Rt. 30/Speen St. intersection.
never seem to get over this way anymore but made a trip just to see what the hub-bub was about.
It’s a nice looking building that’s simple but not boring.  I like the colors and the design.
Inside is everything that people said it would be. ???? ???? 2022   Bright, clean and a convenience oasis that rivals other gas stations.
A few pics of inside:

Cold drink wall:

Extensive coffee selection:

Candy:

Gum and mints:

This place IS pretty nice of a convenience store.  The people working there were nice and friendly and I know it’s new but I couldn’t get over how clean it was. ???? ????   I wish all gas stations were all like this! ???? ?????

All aboard!
