This Is Framingham

On May 18th the Framingham Historical Society will be conducting their 8th annual House Tour from 12-5pm.
Tickets in advance are $25 and after May 10th are $30. There is a $5 discount given to members of the Historical Society and Museum. Tickets are available online at www.framinghamhistory.org or at Whole Foods.

This year’s House Tour will be Opening Doors to Framingham’s Past. Explore an entire section of the Jonathan Maynard Historic District’s three sites within walking distance.  Don’t miss the beautiful Victorian with its sleeping porch master suite and gazebo deck overlooking Gleason’s Pond.  Marvel at both the restoration efforts and adaptive reuse to preserve
some of Framingham’s most architecturally significant properties.  

A Patrons Reception will be held on Saturday May 17th.  The Patrons party tickets are  $100 each and include
open bar, reception, dinner catered by Whole Foods, and a House tour ticket for Sunday.

I’ve done a post on Anastasia’s (12 Union Ave.) before when we got a steak and cheese from there but last night is the first time I’ve had their pizza.

Ethan and his friend had it a few weeks ago so when we were deciding on where to get pizza from he suggested here.  We were kind of pressed for time between just getting home from work and then I had Town Meeting to go to, so when he called, Ethan asked how long it would take to get a pizza delivered they said “No time at all” and it really seemed like it- it was about 15 Minutes from the call that we got the pizza delivered.

 We got half pepperoni and half eggplant.

Personally, I don’t care if a pizza is Greek or Italian style but I thought it was interesting that even though this is a Greek place the pizza was Italian style.  I have to say this pizza was excellent. I just really, really enjoyed this pizza.  At first I thought maybe it was because I was very hungry (I ride my bike to/from work in Westborough and often come home absolutely ravenous)  but then I found myself thinking about how good it was during town meeting, it was just so good. I figured if I was still thinking about it later in the night it must have been my tastebuds, not my hunger that made it so unforgettable.  Here’s a nice deliciously greasy detail:

Mmmmm-mmm!  The sauce, the cheese and the light crust were perfect.  I’m so happy to add this to our small list of good pizza places in Framingham but especially’s since it’s just a few blocks away.

What’s better than a downtown with a train running through the middle of a main route?

A downtown with TWO trains running across two main routes!

I don’t know when but I know someday there will be a solution to downtown’s infamous Rt. ????? ???? ?????? 126/Rt.135 traffic problem.  There is a Framingam Railroad Task Force that is working on a solution to this problem, I’m not sure what their most recent ideas are but last I heard it’s still undecided which option is more (or less) realistic, making the train tracks go under the streets or the streets go under the tracks. ????? ??? ???   Maybe neither will happen but I know the Public Works Department is working on at least synchronizing the traffic lights. ?????? ??????  It’s a good start.

Some creep put up plastic ties across Grove St. at neck level so someone on bicycles and motorcycles would get hurt or killed.
As a bike commuter, this makes me upset but also kind of freaked out that someone hates bikes/motorcycle riders that much to hurt/kill them.
I made a post a while ago about how I really try to be as courteous as possible (staying as far right as I can, obeying traffic signals etc…) to motor traffic and I just ask the same.  It’s a co-existence. 
I don’t know if this was intended for bikes or motorcycles but the fact that someone is comfortable with possibly killing someone over his annoyance is really sad.

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (WBZ) Framingham police say it was “a murder waiting to happen.” Someone strung thick plastic zip ties across a street at neck level.

The ties were found hanging 4 or 5 feet above the ground across Grove Street by Belknap Road on Monday night. Police removed them and they were found there again on Tuesday night and Wednesday.

“Any reasonable person would consider this a deliberate act and just the way it was set up is, in my opinion, a murder waiting to happen,” Lt. Paul Shastany told WBZ.

If someone was riding a motorcycle or bicycle fast enough, they could have been seriously hurt, he said.

“I think it’s terrible. Why would anyone want to injure a cyclist?” asked Adrinne Myer, who was riding her bike through the neighborhood Thursday.

Shastany said the zip ties have been sent to the Massachusetts State Police Crime Lab in Sudbury to be tested for any DNA or other evidence.

A witness told police Tuesday she saw a man in dark clothing standing near a telephone pole with a cord strung from the pole to a tree.

He’s described as white, in his late 20’s, 6 feet tall, 200 pounds with a crew cut and a stocky build.

Officers have increased patrols in the area and put up warning signs.

Panache Coffee recently opened at 680 Worcester Rd. (Ski Market Plaza).   My mom was over and it was so nice out, we decided to walk down to check it out.
Inside has been renovated nicely with lots of neutral colors, big windows and a little nook with a fireplace. vacuna ivermectina
 

The guy at the counter was very patient with my mom who likes to ask lots of questions.  She asked about all the different “fancy” drinks, what kind of syrups they use and what “WiFi” is.

She ended up getting and iced coffee (w/ cream, pictured on the right) and I got an Iced Americano with a shot of chocolate.

My mom, who is very particular about her coffee, said her iced coffee was “really good”.  I was very happy with my Iced Americano as well.  I don’t know where they get their beans from but it tastes like they chose a good quality supplier.  There is also a case with a typical pastry assortment if people want a little something to go with their coffee. la ivermectina daña el hígado humano

I’m really glad Panche opened here.  It’s so nice to have a small coffee house that has great coffee, looks good inside and is close by.  I’m looking forward to supporting this local business.

Ethan and both needed haircuts and I was always curious about what getting a haircut from a beauty school  would be like…AND they were having a special on haircuts for , so we went to get the Blaine experience. apple flavored ivermectin paste

Inside looks like a regular salon.  There is a reception area where we signed a form acknowledging that students would be performing the service and we waited for just a few minutes before we were shown to our chairs by the student hairdressers.

I kept telling Ethan “just tell them you only want a trim – they probably can’t mess that up”
I have to admit I was a little nervous when my hairdresser told me she just started cutting hair on “real people” last week but I figured it couldn’t be any worse than the haircut I tried to give myself a couple of weeks ago. Both of our haircuts actually came out pretty nice and I’d say was well worth the $5.  The only downside is that (I’m guessing because they’re students) they’re VERY slow. imerticina   I just got a basic trim and had to pass on the included blow-dry because I was in the chair for 45 minutes and I had to get out after that long.  Ethan was in his chair for almost as long.  So I wouldn’t recommend going here before catching a movie or  planning on meeting someone.
I may try their $5.75 special on manicures another night.

A new Italian style pizza and dessert place opened up on route 30, (661 Cochituate Rd.) called “North End Treats”.
It is a take-out only place that serves pizza, pasta, sandwiches, pastries and gelato.
Inside is small but large enough to serve it’s purpose since there is no seating.

We got 2 individual 9″ pizzas.  One Bourbon Steak Tips with peppers and one Caramelized Onion with feta and pine nuts.

The steak was good but I really, really enjoyed the caramelized onion pizza.  It was excellent. The natural sweetness of the onions with the salty feta was a perfect match. how long does ivermectin keep killing scabies    
These are especially good pizzas for people that like crust because there’s plenty of it.  I feel like a plain pizza would be very satisfying as well. 
Of course while I was  waiting I couldn’t help but look at the pastry case:

I decided to bring home a little assortment of a peanut butter brownie, cannoli and mini-lobster tail:

I never had a lobster tail before but it was awesome, pastry filled with whipped and Bavarian cream.  It was light (tasting) and so creamy- a very nice treat!  I’d tie that with the peanut butter brownie which is intense and I recommend letting it almost get to room temp before eating since the top layer of chocolate is so thick.  The cannoli was pretty good two but if I had to choose 2 out of the three, it would be the lobster tail and brownie.  I will be back to try the gelato and some pasta dishes. ivermectin demodectic mange
