This Is Framingham

Fun and Games has now completed their transformation to dreadfully boring with their new sign.
It was only a year ago I put this on my “yay” list.  Now because of the subtraction of the spaceship entrance and replacing it with a boring open space plus getting rid of all the pinball machines and having only one classic machine, although it has 2 games (that I don’t play) it gets branded with “nay”.
I’m so disappointed in F&G, they could make more money by keeping games that parents would play while their kids have a pizza party or play those tiny skee ball machines.
I know businesses have to evolve with the times but all these changes seem to be a real effort to make it a less interesting place.

I’ve been to the recycle drop-off a few times, they recently changed their format from the front of the building to the back.  I think it works much better now especially since there can be lines that back up to the street. ivermectin cattle pour on for sheep mites   I got there at the chime of 11am on Sunday but there was already a good line formed.  Since it was nice out and the line moved relatively fast it wasn’t so bad.

The most impressive part of the operation is that the DPW staff are incredibly nice considering it seems like one of those jobs (RMV, tech support) that they don’t have to be pleasant for any good reason.  I’m always greeted with a “how’s it going? will ivermectin kill ear mites in dogs ” or “Good Morning”, they are happy to answer any questions about what I can and can’t bring, give clear directions on where to go and even wave and say “have a good one” when I drive out the exit.  They will also say hello to dogs : )

This place is very well organized. Depending what you need, they direct people into three different lanes.  The glass, paper and plastic drop off has it’s own lane that goes up a ramp for self serve drop off. 

Some items are extra to dispose of but for $10 a season pass is a great deal.  I’m amazed at some of the things they take like grills, couches and storm doors.  It’s so great to have somewhere to bring all this stuff.

Included with the pass is access to yard waste drop-off which is a 10 second drive down the street and again, the people there are really nice and friendly.  I wonder if they get paid amazing amounts of money or they just happen to just be really happy to do what they do but their attitude makes the whole experience so pleasant. budgie base of neck ivermectin

We’ve been to Legal Seafood a few times and at different locations over the years and although it’s not bad, we’ve never been “wowed” by them.  I almost feel bad because most people rave about them but I don’t know what it is.  Still, we thought we’d try there for a lobster roll, as far as Framingham goes the lobster roll availability is slim and we had a gift card so we figured Legal was a good place to go for one.  (The Framingham location is at 50-60 Worcester Rd.)

We got there and the hostess was on the phone but one of the wait staff came over and asked us if we’d like to sit in the lounge or the dining room so we chose the dining room.
Our waitress was nice and she was training someone who stood and watched her while she took our orders.  The only slightly uncomfortable thing about that was that they would stand in the corner and watch us a lot since we were their only table.
We didn’t want to get too full but wanted to try the fish chowder so we split a cup.  I thought it was nice they brought us 2 half cups of chowder instead of one cup with two spoons. ???? ? ????
The chowder was good, not amazing but it tasted what fish chowder should taste like.

The lobster rolls came with fries and cole slaw (although you can choose couscous as a side too).  Ethan and I couldn’t put our finger on it at first but there seemed to be something missing with the lobster roll.  It looked good and there wasn’t too much mayo, there were chives in it for flavor and probably something else but for some reason it wasn’t really flavorful.  We were comparing it with our favorite place to get lobster rolls in Maine and at fist Ethan said it was missing “love”, kind of joking but the guy that runs this place in Maine is always there and on top of everything from the food prep to cleaning the tables and you can kind of taste that care in the food.  Mid-meal, we theorized that it seemed the lobster was so cold maybe the temperature had chilled the meat to be void of any flavor. ???? ?? ????   That was the only thing we could think of.  The toasted roll it self though was excellent, I’d the best part of the meal.

The waitress brought the bill over and I put the gift card and a credit card (to cover the balance) in the bill holder, she took it away and then came back with a credit card machine and placed it on our table.

She showed her trainee how to run a gift card through and then she placed the credit card machine in front of me and explained that I need to enter a tip amount, hit ok and then swipe my card.  Something like that, I forget what the exact procedure was but I remember thinking I was confused for a second because I was trying to understand why the machine was brought to the table and that it was awkward to have the server explain the procedure (I remember her saying “otherwise I’d only get a dollar-something tip”) and how to use the machine when I was expecting just a slip where I write in the tip and sign. 
Ethan asked if the machine was brought to the table because we used a gift card and she said no so I guess this is standard credit card procedure that they bring the machine to the table and the customer swipes their card.  The server said she’d give me a minute to decide the tip and they stood about 10 feet away watching me until I was done entering the tip and came back to get the machine and thanked us for coming.  The server was nice enough but that part was a little weird for me. ?????
I wouldn’t go back for another $22.50 for a lobster roll and like I said I can’t say any other meal I’ve had there was amazing but I know people like this place a lot so they must do something right.  I’ll probably end up trying there again sooner or later.

Ethan and I were walking down Union Ave. today (June 22) and we saw a round orange object on the sidewalk across the street.  At first I thought it was a basketball but upon closer inspection we found out it was a pumpkin. uso de ivermectina en humanos   Then I thought maybe it was a fake pumpkin so I ran across the street to check it out and it was definitely real.

There were some signs of rot on the back but kudos to whoever managed to keep this pumpkin going until now. how often do you give ivermectin to dogs   My personal record of keeping a pumpkin from October is mid-April.  Nothing that outrageous about this but I usually don’t see pumpkins sitting on the sidewalk in late June so I thought I’d share. ivermectin south africa online

I had to go to the Social Security office last week, I assumed it was in the Memorial Building but found out it was just a minute walk from there at 100 Concord St.
 I had never been in this building because I just didn’t find a reason to, the businesses visible from the street weren’t anything I wanted/needed. 
There was nothing special about the office, but I was really impressed with the lobby in the back of the building where the stairs are to get to the second floor.  I loved everything about it.  In addition to being cheerfully sunlit by the glass ceiling, there is a large “house tree”, exposed brick walls and wooden railings and bench.  Just something about it that was so different than other buildings downtown, although maybe there are more like this and I just haven’t been in them.

 I wish I had a reason to frequent this building.  It sounds silly but I’d like to just sit on the bench in there with a cup of coffee and a newspaper sometime, it’s just such a neat little area.

While I was waiting at the stop light at the court house one day I looked over and saw an apartment with both Israeli and Puerto Rican flags in the windows.

We haven’t been to Bickford’s in years and thought we’d try them for breakfast.  I wasn’t expecting a gourmet breakfast but thought it might be good to catch up on the local chain and see how it’s doing.
We started off with a fruit cup, which was pretty good.  The fruit actually seemed fresh, not sitting in syrup.

Ethan got strawberry pancakes and I got an apple and cinnamon waffle.  We both asked for real maple syrup which was brought in warmed individual serving bottles.

Ethan’s pancakes were bland with a mushy pile of thawed frozen strawberries.  My waffle was also bland with surprisingly tasteless apple wedges.  Maybe they boiled them or they’re canned, I don’t know what sucks the flavor out of an apple.  the waffle was slightly crisp on the outside but complete mush on the inside.  With enough maple syrup they were both ok though.

We shared a side of homes fries and sausage too. The home fries were moist and room temperature, like they had been microwave and sitting around.  I don’t remember anything about the sausage at this point, I think they were just ok.

Our waitress seemed ok as far as friendliness, maybe her section was too big, it was kind of busy and we didn’t see her again after the food was served until the end of the meal.  I don’t hold it against her for not coming over sooner though, I get the feeling not much could have been done anyway.  Maybe heat up the home fries but it’s most likely they’d just pop them in the microwave and it wasn’t worth flagging her down.

It wasn’t a non-edible meal but we won’t be rushing back for breakfast any time soon.  Although, for some reason I feel like they would have good burgers or something non-breakfast.  So maybe we’ll try them again after noon sometime.

Long story short: Stick with the fruit cup for breakfast.
