Snow day fieldtrip

While we are working from home today because of the weekly snowstorm installment, Ethan ran out of Coke and was going to go out to a store and get some.Β I thought he was crazy to go on the roads and risk someone sliding into his car (or vice versa).Β The closest convenience store is a 10 minute walk, which normally is fine but with the snow still coming down and the roads the way they are (and the sidewalks are a mess too) it still seemed unappealing or unsafe to go out for something like a bottle of coke.
Then I thought of the hospital, which is right across the parking lot from our house and why not check out their gift shop?Β Well the shop was closed, but the cafeteria was open so we headed up to the second floor and followed the cafeteria aroma…
It had plenty of coke and pretty much anything else you could think of to drink and eat- they even have sushi. I probably wouldn’t eat it but for anyone who might feel adventurous- you’re in a hospital anyway I guess.
Not only that but they have one of my all-time favorite ice cream treats: Twix ice cream bar!
I didn’t get one but this is great to know when it gets hot out (winter will end, right?) and I can scoot over and get some Twix awesomeness!Β Those things really are fantastic.
Anyway, hope everyone is enjoying the snow, I know I’m not but…hopefully only one more month of this (even though we’ve already run out of space to put snow).

The thought of going to FU for food during a snowstorm is pretty funny. Why not, right? π

Hilarious! I swear we are related some how because this is the exact adventure I would have thought up. I’ve never tried the Twix ice cream bar, I will have to give it a try.

If you donate blood there, they give you a free meal coupon for the caf. Of course, I kept turning it down because I don’t live that close-by and why would I eat there? Then 2 weeks ago, that coupon would have been real handly as I had someone there in the ER and needed some lunch… Won’t turn them down any more…

This make me think of the last time I was at Leonard Morse and the gift shop had Teaberry gum, which is so hard to find. I should go back and get some more.

when I started reading the post I thought you wound up in the hospital (injured) because of the snow, now b/c you couldn’t safely get anywhere else. clever solution!
