Five Guys Burger and Fries

June 23rd, 2010

I was coming home From Target tonight when I saw that the former Quizno’s shop will soon be a Five Guys!
I love their fries, they have good burgers too but I think their fries really are the star of the show. ??????? ?????? 2022
I took this picture at their Marlborough location.  I couldn’t find an opeing date for the Framingham location on their website but it will be at the “food mall” at Rt. ????? ??? ???? 30 and Caldor Rd.  Can’t wait till they open!

Former White’s Hardware to House Wine

June 21st, 2010

The Planning Board is meeting on June 24th and on the agenda is parking for the former White’s Hardware which will finally be occupied.  As soon as White’s when out of business, I wondered what could possibly want to take it’s place.  The location is behind a strip of three stores on Franklin St and it’s very hard to see from the street.

When I heard that a wine storage company was looking to move in, it seemed like a perfect fit.  A big warehouse type space that doesn’t need pedestrian traffic to operate.  International Wine Vault has a website you can check out to see what they do and what their rates are.  I won’t be needing their services, but I think it’s great they are occuping the old place and I wish them luck.  One less empty, lifeless building in Framingham!

Traffic Galore

June 16th, 2010

I just want to say that I HATE all the traffic going on in town due to construction on some main streets or world cup celebrating.   I’m lucky enough that I can walk to work, but I had to drive yesterday so I could go to an appointment and it took me longer to drive than it does to walk (20 minutes).

Then when I was trying to get home, traffic was at a standstill and backed up Concord St. from downtown to a little past Hartford St.  Apparently there was some World Cup street celebrating that happened to take place right at rush hour.
I’ve encountered such terrible road manners and I try not to let it get me in a bad mood but it’s so disheartening how people act to fellow drivers and how selfish people can get when they decide where they want to get to is more important than following the laws of the road and do things like cut you off and then give you the finger or purposely block paths of oncoming traffic because they didn’t care that even though traffic wasn’t moving, they decided to squeeze by a yellow (even red) light and plug up the intersection.
Anyway, I’ll be trying to avoid driving during the day as much as possible and good luck to everyone trying to get around town in the paths of construction.

The Craze Is Over

June 16th, 2010

Video craze has had a for lease sign in their window for a while and I thought maybe it’s just for another suite in the building but today I noticed a sign stating that it’s closing and for some reason only offering deals on their “Adult” DVDs. You can get one DVD for $10 or three for $10(?)

Special post

June 10th, 2010

I know they moved to Natick years ago but Joan and Ed’s Deli was an important part of the old Shoper’s World.  I worked there when it was at SW and remember when I was late for work running up the ramp and bringing home pickles for my mom at the end of the night. ????? ????
Anyway, they had the best knishes around and their food will be missed! ?????? ???????????
Here’s the MWDN article posted today about the closing: http://www.metrowestdailynews.com/news/x669149831/Joan-Eds-Deli-to-close-forever-after-Fathers-Day

Summer Work Downtown

June 6th, 2010

At the last Downtown Renaissance meeting, Director of Public Works, Peter Sellers was a guest speaker and told us about the summer projects for the area.
The projects planned will be started this summer and completed sometime next summer.   They’re going to make functional and aesthetic improvements to downtown.  Some of these projects include adding brick lined sidewalks, taking out all the trees and replacing them with a different kind of tree that can handle the area better (species yet to be determined), and installing tree grates to protect the roots.  Also with the subtraction of the rotary, they will be increasing the space in the plaza area in front of the Memorial building.  In addition to all this, they’ll install brick crosswalks and add ornamental lighting that will “dramatically” light up downtown at night using LED lights. panjiva ivermectin import
Downtown can be a touchy subject. Some people say its too far gone to improve and some see it’s potential.  My feelings about it vary from day to day. precisa receita para comprar ivermectina   While it doesn’t solve the major issues, I feel it’s better than not doing anything and I’m looking forward to having these improvements done. lice treatment with ivermectin, malathion and spinosad

Brazilian Steak House coming to Rt. 9

May 31st, 2010

The former D’Angelos, and more recently Casa Brazil looks like it will be a new Brazilian steak house called Barreto’s.
I can’t say that I’m all that excited because we already have plenty of the same thing- Brazilian steak places but maybe this one will be different somehow.
