Eggcetera, Etc…

November 13th, 2011

This morning Ethan and I went to check out Eggcetera, Etc.. (665 Cochituate Road)
It’s a new place that offers a create-your-own meal that you can eat there or take-out.
They offer omelets, pancakes, french toast, pasta and stirfry options.
Basically, you choose your ingredients for what you want in the options mentioned above.

Then you bring it over to the cooking station where your ingredients are prepared to create your meal.

I got an omelet with vegetables, bacon and two kinds of cheese and chose sweet potato homefries and multi-grain roll:

Ethan got pancakes with strawberries (which the cook asked if he’d like the berries on top or inside) and regular homefries:

We enjoyed our breakfasts, everything tasted great and the owner and staff are very friendly and happy to explain the procedure and answer any questions.
It’s a refreshing addition to the area and I hope it does well.
For more information you can check out their website:

  3. Hi Freddy, I don’t remember exactly but I think they were reasonable and nothing stood out as particularly pricey. I guess you could write to the contact info on their site for specifics though.

  4. My hubby visited a couple of weeks ago to pick up breakfast for the fam. It was a really nice surprise, especially those sweet potato home fries!

  5. Seems like an interesting concept…kind of like “Fire and Ice” with a breakfast bent. Thanks for bringing this to my attention…I need to try it. Eric

  6. We’ve been there twice. I’d say the prices run about $5.99 to $8.00 for a meal. I’ve only had an omlette, but they have stir fries too (like in a wok). The price depends on what ingredients you pick to put into the ‘made-on-demand” fresh omlet. If you chose, for instance, shrimp – then your final price would be more than just for a cheese and spinach omlette. A lot of choices on cheeses, meats, vegs., etc. Set up like a salad bar, but you pick what you want and put it into a small paper bin. There’s a picture and instructions when you walk in. I think they’re only open to 3pm. Very friendly and helpful staff, I agree. Ask for one of the owners, I think her name is Jess or Jessie.
