Finally

October 7th, 2007

The old (and ugly) building that was once Janitor’s Warehouse at the corner of Concord and Aberdeen (and Rt. 9) has finally been torn down.
You’d think there would be some permits issued for this but I looked up the address and nothing has been issued since 2005.  In fact, there are only three permits ever issued on the building at all (according to the permit and licence look-up onthe  town website) so maybe something is just off in the record keeping.

I have no idea what could be going on for this site, but I’m pretty sure whatever it is will be better than that boarded up old building.

  1. Hmmm . . . one would think that would be some pretty in demand real estate for a retail store.

On a side note in High School I knew a guy who worked at Janitor’s Warehouse.

  2. I have been reading this blog for awhile and I find it really interesting. My comment has nothing to do with the Janitors Warehouse, but I figure the people that read this website may know the answer to a question that has been driving me crazy for months now. Has anyone driven around Framingham, Natick, Sherborn, Ashland, Holliston and noticed the homemade “APR” signs that have an arrow pointing in a certain direction? I have no idea what they mean and it’s driving me crazy. I would follow them but there are so many of them and they don’t seem to point in a specific direction, it would be like a wild goose chase. If anyone knows I would so greatly appreciate the answer.

  3. There was a permit issued:
    http://www.framinghamma.gov/PermProp/PermitsPage2.aspx?Street=CONCORD%20ST&Street_No=741

The permit is from Jan 2007, and it says its for a condemned building. If you click on that link it says they paid 8,000 to demo the existing building.

I live close by, and had to check out what was going up. No permits to build anything yet.

    :)

  6. with all the drainage pipes going in, it almost looks like it will be a parking lot… but that seems like a waste of space. who knows….

  7. the ugly old building that someone wrote about was once a beautiful home of the Fair Family, the last ones to live there was Joe and his sister, highly reputable folks.
both passed away years ago. dont know if the property was sold or whatever, but before all the commercial stuff moved in. this part of concord st was just beautiful.
it is sad what greed can do. joe and has sister would turn over in their graves if they saw this. pray that something nice, even shrubs or whatever will be on the corner again.
Aberdeen Rd once was a beautiful street. check it out.
lots of commercial stuff on it. sad.
