Georgio’s Pizza

February 16th, 2009

Georgio’s is on Concord Street in Saxonville.   As I’ve mentioned before we don’t get up to  good ol’ Saxonville that much but we had time during the week and finally wanted to check out Gerard’s sandwiches I’ve heard so much about but when we pulled into the parking lot we saw a note on the door saying they were on vacation so for some reason we went here instead.
We decided to share a cheese pizza which was just okay, Ethan thought it was one of the worst pizzas ever.  It’s cardboardy crust, flavorless sauce and bland cheese just didn’t do it for him.
Maybe it was an off day, who knows.  I did like that they make their own soups, so I’d try one of those next time.

  1. I was at an event at Edwards Congregational Church in September where Georgio’s Pizza was served and the pizza was excellent. I was among a number of people at that event who remarked about how good the pizza was. I’d never had Georgio’s before that. I have no idea why Ethan’s was so bad, or if there’s been some change in the Georgio’s business since September.

  2. Next time in Saxonville, check out Pizza Wagon.. Far better pizza than Georgio’s.

  3. I agree their pizza is like cardboard. In fact all but one pizza shop in the northern half of Framingham is terrible in our opinion. But Gianni’s rules.

  4. I keep going back to Famous, but just because they’re the closest to my house. I’ve heard good things about Georgio’s, but the parking lot is so awkward to get in and out of at best, and there’s hardly any place to park in there anyway. I second Gianni’s – haven’t been there in a while but they have great pizza.

  5. We stopped going to Gianni’s because of price, but have gone back this past month once we compared prices around town, which are up there, and Gianni’s was cheaper and better!! so we are back. Georgio’s not so much, parking, and tasteless pizza.

  6. Georgio’s is the only place we’ll call for pizza delivery. They have delicious calzones (veggie is my favorite) and the greek salad is always fresh.

  7. I live near Georgio’s and it’s hit or miss with that place. I agree with Barry re: better pizza from Pizza Wagon. We have enjoyed the pasta and calzones from Georgio’s as a good local and less expensive alternative to our regular takeout from Bertuccis. My wife would want me to point out that if you are a vegetarian, you have to be very specific about the non-meat sauce. They have three red sauces: one with obvious meat, one with finely ground meat, and one with no meat at all. If you ask for plain red sauce, you might actually get a meat sauce without knowing it!

  8. That’s good to know Tyler. Kids and I are veg too, so I’m always asking restaurants exhaustive questions about their ingredients.

  11. We brought our girls basketball team to Giorgios on Saturday after the last game of the season. It could not have been better. The pizzas were great, the service and staff exceptional. We called ahead and they had everything set up for us in the semi-private room off to the side. We wil definitely think Giorgios any time we have something going on in the future.

    Well done!

  12. Giorgio’s pizza was the worst I’ve ever had in my life…

  13. I know this comment is about a year old, but Georgio’s is my favorite sandwich shop in Framingham!

It’s pizza is by far it’s weakest point, but it is not even that bad. Their buffalo chicken wrap is my favorite buffalo chicken wrap I have ever had (and I have certainly had my fair share). I wouldn’t recommend the pizza here, but everything else is outstanding! Even their baked ziti is delicious. You gotta give it another chance!

  14. I’m the new owner of Georgio’s Pizza and wanted to point out that a lot has changed over the past several months since I purchased the place back in April. Unfortunately the previous owner, whom I’ve known for a very long time, let the place slide down in terms of quality and service due to difficulties managing a new location.
I’ve been in this business with my family for a very long time and I have a passion for what I do. It’s great to see some of the positive comments on this thread, but I also encourage everyone to try Georgio’s again. I spare no expense in delivering the best food for the price, and I’m always looking for customer feedback to make it even better. If you have any suggestions or comments about the food or service, please feel free to contact me directly at dgripeos@msn.com or ask for me at the restaurant. Thanks everyone!

  15. Stay away from Gianni’s! We used to eat from there constantly but their prices are rediculous and one night we ordered 10 sandwiches from them (in other words it was a good chunk of change) and they made two completely wrong. When we went back with the two incorrect subs they flat out refused to fix them, insisting that we ordered them that way. I made the order and repeated it so I know it wasn’t me. We’ve since vowed to stay away from there. Try Andreas Pizza across the parking lot. The foods just as good and at a much more reasonable price…and they are a much nicer bunch of guys working there overall.

  16. I drove out of my way to try Georges on one occasion, phoned in my order for two pies, got there and they only cooked one. I ended up calling Liberty (Famous) to purchase the second one. The Natick location has a Sun Mon $5.25 Large cheese pizza special, the framingham location has similar deal. With that being said I did actually enjoy the flavor of Georges pie.
