What’s the deal?: Lloyd’s Diner
August 31st, 2006
A couple of people have written asking about Lloyd’s diner and the mysterious hours it is open, or mostly not open since there are no hours posted. I thought it opened at 6am (I used to go there when I was in college) but then I went by earlier this week and it was closed at 6:40am. I tried calling that day to see if they opened after I went to work but no one answered.
I tried again just now and someone picked up, so I got the hours:
Monday Closed
Tuesday Closed
Wednesday Closed
Thursday 6:00-11:00
Friday 6:00-11:00
Saturday 6:00-12:00
Sunday 6:00-12:00
They also said that in a few weeks they will be open on Wednesdays.
Apparently they are strictly breakfast since they close before lunch. Good for them that they can stay in business with such limited days/hours but I think having a diner with more availability would be good to have in the area, too bad.Â
One of these days I will get back there and review.
Must be someone’s hobby to own it. I wonder how a diner like that would do located somewhere by the Framingham train station. For that matter, I wonder why whatever restaurant has been located inside the train station always seems to go out of business?
At one time, there was a restaurant and club in the old Post Office by Franklin St. at Park Ave. Now it’s a “church”.
All of these places seemed good on first glance, but don’t succeed.

Yeah I used to go to Ebinezer’s (the old trainstation). The food was ok but the bar upstairs was fun. I even went to Bambino’s once, the club that is now the “church”. It was kind of stupid but I’d rather have a club there than add another tax-exempt property. There’s something like 30 churches on the south side, they make anything into a church now. Kind of makes you wonder.

I love your website b/c you answer all the “Framingham questions” I always wonder about…
Is there a way to find out what’s being built on the corner of Rt 9 and Winter Street?

Looks like it’s going to be a metro credit union – not too exciting.

That’s a cool looking place and I’ll go there one day. Gotta support the old diner. Another fine establishment is Sunny Side cafe in Ashland. Not a real diner like this one though.
