No Loitering

September 12th, 2007

While waiting at the stoplight by the Salvation Army, I noticed that they placed potted trees at the base of the windows.  The base has a little shelf-like area that was popular for people to hang out on.

I thought it was interesting because I didn’t think the Salvation Army thought that much about how the outside looked.
I wonder if people will just move the trees and sit there anyway.

  2. I think this is a great way to not only beautify the area but to discourage loitering and potential vandalism. Good job Salvation Army! I hope the trend at attempted landscaping continues throughout the town.

  3. Wow, with just a few potted plants, that area looks a thousand times better! I just hope they can keep it up.

  5. Notice in the newspaper article that one of the “staff” chose to wedge herself between the pots and sit down. What a disgrace! She must be tired.

  6. How long before those get stolen? Or better yet, the trees die and the pots become ashtrays?
