Pizza Quest: Centre Pizza

August 9th, 2006

On the recommendation of so many people we tried to go to Gianni’s but when we got there we found a note saying they were on vacation.  We were so disappointed because everyone raves about Gianni’s so much but we regrouped and headed to Centre Pizza where we’ve only had subs before so we thought we’d check out the pizza.(That’s half onion, half plain)

I guess I can see why no one has written in and raved about Centre, although it smelled great. I think something is lacking in the sauce or cheese and the dough was a little too doughy but it could have been a fluke pie.  It wasn’t horrible but the quest continues.  I want to add though that their subs are super.

Also I wanted to point out in Gianni’s window is a flyer posted by someone looking for a lost dog 🙁

  1. Good thing you reviewed this, I was getting close to trying it before I found Gianni’s.

  2. Wait for Gianni’s to reopen and try again. It’s definitely worth it, the pizza is outstanding.

  3. Check out Anastasia’s at 12 Union Ave in Downtown. The service is horrible (unless you get who I think is the owner because he is the only one working hard), the delivery takes forever (once waited an hour and a half because the person answering the phone miss spelled our street), but the buffulo chicken pizza is mouth watering and only $10 for a 16″ large. Just go there to order and pick it up, and try to talk to the guy working hard.

  4. The pizza is Greek style (see the debate about this in the Gianni’s comments) but for as a guilty pleasure I get the special with anchovies and can overlook the not so decent crust. And I agree the subs are great, but I was born in Natick and nothing will ever beat Corrados.

  5. Really? You didn’t like Centre’s pizza? Oh well, I like both Gianni’s and Centre and as you pointed out, the subs at Centre are fantastic.

  6. I love Centre Pizza! I think they could kick it up a notch by adding extra sauce because I would rather more sauce than cheese, but I’d say that it’s the best pizza in Framingham. Greek style is the tastiest.

  7. I started going to Centre pizza when I was 14 years old (20+ yrs ago) got pizza from there tonight after not having it for maybe a year and have to say I wasn’t happy with it, a large wasn’t a large anymore, the crust isn’t the same and the sauce wasn’t the same, loved their sauce and they changed it!
Not sure what or why they made changes but they need to go back to how it was… it’s nothing like it used to be. 🙁
