Vote on Tuesday, no foolin’!
March 31st, 2008
Tuesday, April 1st is our town election and it seems kind of weird but for a town with such a large population, we have an amazingly small amount of residents who vote (only 16% of the town voted last year). I think this year, with the presidential elections, more people made sure to register than usual so why not get out there and vote on town government?Â
As I mentioned before I’m voting for Laurie Lee for Selectman. I think she’s great, she’s been supportive of me and I think she would do a fantastic job as Selectman.
Also, for any precinct 13er’s out there, some friends and I are running for the three Town Meeting Member vacancies(since I was appointed, not elected, last year I will be on the ballot this year)
So if you’re in 13 please vote for:
Michelle McElroy(me)
Sarah Oulton
Karen Hewitt* (Karen is a write-in)
Polls are open from 7am-8pm
Best of luck in the election tomorrow!
An (almost) elected town official. Geegh, I’m impressed.

Michelle, as a resident of Precinct 13, I’m pleased to have you represent me as a Town Meeting member! I’ll be voting for “your ticket”…that is, the people you ‘ve mentioned and endorsed in this piece. I do hope there’ s better turnout that 16%. Best regards and thank you for all you do for Framingham.

Local elections are SO IMPORTANT! It’s so sad so few people take their time to vote. Most towns have the same low turnout for local issues. My town hovers in the 20-25% range which is better than most but still frustrates me to no end.
Local issues effect people’s lives much more than state and federal issues. So come on Framingham, get out and vote!
And good luck Michelle!
Oh, and as a bonus, see if your Town Clerk will give you a sample ballot after the election. A ballot with your name is a fun souvenir.

Thanks for spreading the word, Michelle, and thanks for voting, everyone!
We’ll do our very best as Town Meeting Members if elected, I’m sure.

Michelle, Thanks so much! I hope to work with you and Sarah for our precinct and Framingham. I just came from McCarthy School and the report for Precinct 13 is windy with votes! Good luck! Karen
