Coming soon…
August 24th, 2009
The site of the short-lived Asia Buffet will soon be occupied again by a pub. According to the town permits, it looks like it will be called O’Connell’s Pub and they have their liquor license approved.
I wish the new occupants luck, I know this location has had bad luck but don’t know why, it’s in a nice little plaza right on rt. 9.  I guess before it was really run-down but the Asia Buffet people really cleaned it up inside and out and I think it’s great someone is ready to put all their work to good use and open a tax-paying business there.
rumor has it, they’ll be working on the main street bridge soon. perhaps that will drive more traffic to the plaza.
are the town permits available to look at online?

it’s not a rumor! The main street bridge is being built!
As of Friday the two green steel arches were installed and they are laying the steel across the river now. 8/25 the decking arrives and will be installed over 5 weeks. the state is saying it will be open by thanksgiving!
any restaurant opening in that location needs luck… it seems to be a doomed spot to eat. my feeling is that being partially underground and next to what appears to be a pumping station for some reason affects people’s interest in going there.
The only good restaurant that’s been there was Tony Romas! They had the best ribs!!!

Good to see something other than a crappy chinese restaurant is going in there! I went there a few months back with my sister and her partner and it was 10x worse than mall chinese. The previous places were no good either, so hoepfully a change of cuisine will do them good

I sure hope this turns out to be a great new place! Its sad to see places go in and out of business there seemingly every year.
I just hope they make this place, a fun place to go and perhaps a little advertising will do this place some good.
We need a good Irish pub around here!

This will be great if its done right. Desmond O’malleys did it right with great food, drink, atmosphere and lots of big screen tvs.

Scioletti’s Italian Eatery was there and was a great place until it closed. We don’t really need any more of the same type of restaurants in Framingham - I’d rather see a more specialized cuisine - perhaps Thai (replacing the fabulous Thai Orchid) move in.

Word is, its going to be run by the folk who own Lloyds Diner

Oh yes, we need a “new” Thai Orchid. I miss their golden bags with that yummy dipping sauce. Nothing like them anywhere else in the world!
