Sushi at Samba
February 1st, 2010
Tonight my friend Miah and I went out for sushi at Samba. I’ve gone here for hibachi and Ethan and I love their Pad Thai, but I’ve never gone here for a sushi evening so that’s what Miah and I did.
We sat in the lounge (also a first) and started off with some drinks, I got a chocolate martini and and Miah got something fruity that the waiter suggested.

We got some edamame and a sushi/maki combo for 2. This was really enough for 3, maybe even 4 and hasd a nice variety of nigiri and maki which was delicious.

I think the best roll was was the spicy tuna maki, which Miah agreed was particularly good.

We had such a great meal here and now have three reasons to go here. Whether it’s for hibachi, Pad Thai or sushi, I’d be happy to go here anytime and it’s good to see that so far Samba hasn’t succumbed to the failed restaurant curse that had plagued this location for previous businesses. Good job Samba!
My husband and I went a while back and were really impressed with their sushi…very fresh. Can”t wait to go back. My personal favorite is the spicy scallop roll…YUM!!

Love Samab and their food, they also do a great job with Karoeke (sp?) on Thursdays and Saturdays, as well as a full night of dancing on Friday nights until 2am!!! Great place with great service!!
Also on Super Bowl Sunday if you go there before 6pm and buy onlt 1 drink you get a FREE BUFFET!!!

I actually had a very mediocre experience at Samba. My wife and I also sat in the lounge which had a very boring feel to it; it lacked identity and did not feel welcoming. We also felt like the service was slow and unresponsive and that the sushi was just okay. We would rather get sushi from Aoi, or even Whole Foods.

Hi Michelle,
Totally unrelated but I didn’t know how to message you elsewhere. Just wondering if you know what is going into where KFC was on 135? And what happened to them?

I eat at Samba for lunch every so often, and particularly go for the Bento boxes. It’s always pleasant there, and sadly never crowded. And the food is good!

I LOVE their sushi! I usually get it as take out but I sat in once. The one drawback was that it was super loud in there.

Samba has okay food, but its the same old scene at night, with drunk college aged kids spilling out onto route 9. They serve people was past the point of inebriation.
