Brazzille is open again

June 9th, 2009

A while ago Brazzille downtown (at 91 Hollis St.) closed.  I’m not sure why if it was because of slow business or something else but I just noticed that they re-opened. ???? ????? ??? ????
I was only there once but it was very nice inside and they seemed to cater to Americans as much as Brazilians.  I’m just not a huge fan of Brazilian food so I haven’t been back but I am glad this place with it’s pleasant exterior has re-opened and isn’t another vacant storefront. ???? ????? ??? ??????

Bollywood Grill almost here

May 7th, 2009

I went by what I call “The 80’s Building” where Fun and Games, Legal Sea Foods and DCU is.  In the back of the building where the Rat Pack was, is where the Bollywood Grill is almost ready to ope.  There is a “Now hiring” flyer in the window and says “Opening Soon” on the bigger sign for the whole building on Rt. 9.
Unfortunately, I probably won’t go here since I’m part of the 1% of the planet who isn’t a fan of Indian food (yes, I’ve tried it several times, just not my thing) but I know a lot of people will be happy this and it’s nice to see some variety on Rt. 9.

Lights coming on Union Ave.

April 13th, 2009

I noticed recently that there are new traffic lights getting put in on Union Ave. where it intersects with Franklin St.  Normally I’m not for putting in more traffic lights (it seems to take so long to get anywhere because of them) but I think this intersection needs it because of the drivers coming out of Franklin taking a left onto Union.  It’s just always a mess and then drivers end up pulling out into the middle of the road to see if they can take a left but hold up traffic because once they get out in the middle of the road they see they can’t or they don’t care and just do it because  traffic coming is so strong no one will stop for them and they don’t want to wait until the road is clear.
It’s weird, I’ve never found myself at that intersection trying to take a left but enough people do that I think this light will help things out.  Plus it doesn’t look bad with the black paint and gold “topper” at the top of the pole.

Wings Over Framingham coming at some point

March 24th, 2009

I didn’t get to take a picture yesterday of the whole building so I’m just using an old photo taken of the old car dealership  in front of Walgreen’s on rt. 135.  Thanks to a tip from a nice reader, I found out that in this building, but to the right (and just cut out of this picture) is where a restaurant called “Wings Over Framingham” will be probably sometime in April.  I walked up to the window yesterday and saw they have some tables and chairs and a menu posted inside. ???? ?????

I know Framingham already has the awesome Chicken Bone less than a mile from here and on the same street, but I’m happy to see this moving in.  Ethan was thinking maybe Framingham will become the Buffalo Wing capital of Metrowest! onecard fawry

Green means go

March 18th, 2009

As I’ve mentioned before, I usually avoid driving through the intersection of 126 and 135 because of things like the photo above.  This was taken in April of 2007 and it was very frustrating to get a green light only to not be able to go anywhere because there were two red lights stopping any traffic from moving. ????? ???? ????? 2022
This morning I decided to brave driving this way since it was early enough and saw this:

I’m not sure if the lights are synchronized now and like I said I usually avoid  driving this way (I’ll drive around Farm Pond instead even though it’s longer) but it would be great if now green always means go 🙂

Library upgrades

November 11th, 2008

First, sorry for the lack of posts, things have been crazy busy. I hate to go so long in between posts but I guess it happens sometimes.
So I noticed recently that the library has a new sign, or lettering and lamps by the front door. ???? ?????? ??????
I also noticed they got some new book return bins. ????? ?????? ???????   I remember the old ones were really rusty and beat up looking, so these are a nice improvement.

The third thing I noticed was new chairs and tables in the lobby.

I think this looks great, it almost seems like they should serve coffee 🙂

These upgrades are a welcome sight considering the downgrades in downtown like the loss of Fabric Place and the continuously crumbling steps at the Memorial Building.

Slow Going

October 23rd, 2008

We walked down to the Main St. bridge the other day and saw some encouraging signs of activity.  There is a tent in the background that I’ve seen lit at night so it seems people are working on this into the evening. iver p ivermectina 6 mg precio
Here what we could see from the fence:

I’ve heard  it will just be a pedestrian bridge but it looks like they’re getting it ready for auto traffic too, we’ll see.   I wonder of the people who live at the base of the bridge on either side can’t wait for this to open or if they’ve enjoyed the quiet of no cars coming down their street.   This project has been taking years, I don’t even know how many,  to complete. ivermectin injectable goat does  It’s good to see some progress though.
