A source told me that Bronzetti’s pizza planning on moving into the space that Red Pepper is in. The source is usually pretty reliable but I don’t see any permits yet to confirm. I don’t know if the rt. 9 location would stay open as well or if this is even really happening but I think it would be an improvement to what’s there now. I know some people love Red Pepper but we had a pretty bad meal there and I got some take out Hot and Sour soup there that was pretty much flavored with just black pepper (ironically not red). I think this location would be a great location for a pizza hangout and Liam-esque kind of place. We’ll see if this happens.

I was looking through the permit listing on the town website and noticed some recent permit action at 2 Beacon St. The photo above is when this location was Michi Kusa but it was last occupied by Green Tea II. Ethan and I loved a scallop dish of theirs and were really bummed out when they closed.
As of January 12th, there are permits approved for a liquor and victualer license under the business name “Green Tea 2″, so I hope this means they’re coming back. Stay tuned!

The site of the short-lived Asia Buffet will soon be occupied again by a pub. According to the town permits, it looks like it will be called O’Connell’s Pub and they have their liquor license approved.
I wish the new occupants luck, I know this location has had bad luck but don’t know why, it’s in a nice little plaza right on rt. 9. I guess before it was really run-down but the Asia Buffet people really cleaned it up inside and out and I think it’s great someone is ready to put all their work to good use and open a tax-paying business there.

Driving by the Trolley Square plaza today I saw a new produce market is moving in where Corner’s framing used to be. I think this is great, pretty bold for moving within walking distance of Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s, as well as the Indian market right in the same plaza but that leads me to think this will offer something different either in variety of merchandise or price.
Of course I would have loved to see this move into Sad Plaza or for the folks up in Nobscot, to their plaza but I’ll be interested to check this out when it opens and see what have.

I never did get to the Rat Pack Cafe before it closed and was wondering if anything was going on with the space. I saw in the work permits that Bollywood Grill is moving in. I wish I liked Indian food, I’ve tried it a few times but I’m just not into it but I know this cuisine has a lot of hard core fans so I’m sure it will do well.

At the former site of Chili’s will be the British Beer Company. This is a small Massachusetts chain of 7 (soon to be 8 ) British style pubs. I had not heard of these until now, but I checked out their website and it seems like a it’ll be a great addition to Route 9. Since most likely a small mom and pop restaurant will not open on Route 9, I think this will be the closest we’ll get.
On their website they say they have 100 beers and 40 of them are on tap. They have an employee exchange and send random staff members to England to work at pubs there and help re-create the British pub experience here. I don’t know how well hat works but it’s an interesting concept. They will also have live music, so I’m looking forward to checking that out too.

Passing by the dearly departed Hurwitz Kosher Meat Market I noticed a “coming soon” sign. I’m not sure what kind of food JOA take-out will serve. It would be nice if it’s something I really like but I’ll check it out either way. I thought it was interesting that on the permit it states there will be 50 seats. I don’t know how they would even fit 6 seats. There is no mention or permits for the vacant space next door but I guess we’ll see what they have planned.
